Rose

Silence ringing in my ears Mind cluttered with tangling thoughts Eyes dry from all those tears Watching the rose as it rots Dreaming of a kiss Yet so far away I find that I can't deal with this I turn to watch the rose decay Envisioning your face I can't stand to think of it at all Your touch is softer than lace I sit and watch the petals fall All that's left of us being apart Is remembering the old. Your memory stains my heart I stand and watch the rose fold I'm slowly melting in your arms You're too good to be true Being with you I'm protected from harm You hand me a rose and whisper I love you

Additional Notes:
This was written so the last line in every stanza is reversed. Starts with it rotting, then at the end he is giving me the rose. Punctuation used where I felt necessary. Thanks for reading.
