The Skater

I sleep as long as my dreams ask it of me My bed a basket full of absence My mind is shunned by thought, logic, exercise Behind a book of hate, a book of love is burned. While eyes grow dark and legs tire My darkened half and fate against my mind conspire On my cieling a poster lies of life better Yet I get a feeling that there is no kind And that I should enjoy myself, but... but you are the only one doing that. And as I observe your manners and mannerisms, I have a reason-    - A reason to dream, a reason to sleep. I yawn... and color rushes back and excitement rushes back Through my nostrils I taste your flavor, the flavor - of what being's supposed to be. That's what you mean to me It is a fleeting scent as you pass It's trampeled grapes... The feeling they will bestow upon my breast. The heat, the sweet taste, the relaxing... ahhh, the sleep The room begins to twirl And the girl spins wall, wall, wall, wall door, wall... And then up. The missing windows bothered me so before, but now, rising above the floor I realize, The better life is not different at all but you are inside of me, You're the key to this portal of plastic and ink and paper... Not so, no more those things than what they seem. Two blades, one icy plane... And you... spinning. I enter this world, your world, my world With molded costumes that aren't there... Take me in your arms. Cold world! Warm souls! Blistering intelectual stimula...... Poisoned- That's what they called me. It's what they are though, It's in their heads We know   They're dead, we live
