Shelter

The one who held me when I was in pain. Who wiped away my tears and told me it would be O.K. The one who stood by me until the end. The one who sheltered me. The one who was my soulmate,my best friend. "I hate you" are the words you now say. As I cry you just walk away. I used to feel love and happiness, now replaced with pain and loneliness. You used to shelter me from harmful words, now you are the one who can be heard.. As I cry alone in the dark I remember how you once mended my broken heart. Now it is you I need protection from, with harmful hands you won't let me run.  I have no one to tell me that it'll be O.K. Now I am alone hurting afraid   copyright@2001 Nicole
