In This Darkness

My sight is gone and won't return.   I know it, but inside I yearn   For one more chance to see the day   And watch the hours slip away.      The thing that causes me most pain;   I'll not be seeing you again.   So now my loving fingers trace   The plains and valleys of your face.      But in this darkness, there's the light   Of knowing things will be all right.   Our love's intact; we'll never part.   I've lost my sight, but not my heart!
