Shadowed Past

Peering into dreaded Darkness Better days now gone I can not help but hark on this Now that everything is wrong My body is painfully numb Eyes blinded by the night Thinking of the days to come Thoughts today shed no light The future is bitterly pointless Living holds the same thought Fear is like a deadly kiss My mind and soul it rots Trying to seem worthy To the most callous one Tearing at the soul of me I disapprove of what I've done Decaying heart sinks to dust Bloody tears fall like rain Flooding thoughts make my mind bust As my soul screams out in pain

Additional Notes:
Darkness in the first line capitalised on purpose. One apostrophe used, nothing more because I felt it unnecessary.
