THE PLEA OF HUMILITY

It wasn't His glory that so inspired me, Though truly glorious is He. But my pride was brougt low by the plea Of the Man on the cross's humility. So despised and alone; held of no account. Death seemingly ignoble.  Lord, there is not amnount Of humble gratitude, that I could ever express. Stripped of all, to cloth others in glory; to bless. So, I lay myself completely prostrate, less I fail at meekness, and miss out on greatness. For by the Spirit, I confess To choose the greater; never the less! To choose the greater is the willingness to lay soul low. To be "good" as dead, for the glory that will show To others who pick the harder row to hoe, Thus reap the fruit of the Spirit,  As the roots of Christ grow. Let modesty rest gently on humility's dreams, For a crucified life is what the Kingdom of God means. Then add righteousness, peace and joy with the Holy Ghost, And in the twinkling of my eye, you'll see who I love most! He's the One for whom I daily die And bow low.  He's the Most High!
