(a year in haiku)
(january)
hungry swooping birds
battle for the hard brown crumbs
thrown on frozen ground
(february)
icicled statues
stand silently in moon-lit
frosted fountain pools
(march)
wind gusts whip up leaves
while ripping branches down to
mounds of mushy snow
(april)
cupid's arrows fly
high as birds and butterflies
seem to multiply
(may)
sweet blossoms scent
air thick with winged vibrations
of the hummingbird
(june)
rippling waters whirl
with famished fishes feasting
on glinting minnows
(july)
cicadas' droning
lonely staccato racket
rises on heat waves
(august)
oceans rise and crest
lifting up their jeweled moons
to waiting heavens
(september)
brown sodden leaves
lay in molding memories
of long vanished spring
(october)
jack-o-lantern teeth
flicker yellow warning lights
of frost's coming bite
(november)
laughing skaters glide
their light silhouettes mirrored
in the glassy ice
(december)
star of bethlehem
rise anew to light the way
of the wondrous birth

Additional Notes:
I placed the titles (which haiku is not supposed to have) in parentheses so we could pretend they are not really there--I thought they were needed for clarification.
