Subway Blues Subway blues, Sing them to me Joey, As you and me Walk down the tracks. Taking our chances, man, In the dark, Never knowing what's coming At us, Or behind us. Hey, Joey, What you think? No, don't stop singing. I know what you're thinking, Man, I feel it too. Here it is, At our feet, In our hands, Saying "take me Rape me, I'm yours." Our territory, Joey, Our area, Ours. Yeah, Joey, You and me can rule This whole goddam kingdom. We can be leaders, Diplomats, Joey. You and me, We'll be statesmen. What you think of that? Yeah, I know, You just keep singing them blues. No, easy, Joey, Don't see no lights, Don't hear no trains... But, man, We don't even have to take it. We can spit on it, Because we know What it's all about, The ins and outs. Joey, we know. They can't be sly with us. No one gonna dope us With rules and promises. We know, Joey. We know. 'Cause we could of been there, We could of been statesmen. But they don't understand, No one does Joey, 'Cept you and me. Say what, Joey? No, no, no, Ain't no trains due. You just keep at them subway blues. Sing them Joey. |
