No Mans Land

No man's land, just walking in quicksand. You sweat, you struggle, you curse the world. Slowly sinking never again to stand.  Darkness closing over, playing out a dead man's hand. Darkness comes, no sights, no sounds the internal abyss, the mental playground. Physical cries muted, outside world aborted.  Running lost in the galaxy of the mind millions of truths all unsorted. Where do you go? where have you been? Lost in the Hell of your mind are you alone, the only one of your kind? Inside, pain, anguish, deepest fear and despair outside, expressionless, just a catatonic stare. Two pale eyes set in a cold pale face looking past life, nothing left to embrace.

Additional Notes:
This poem was published by poetry.com but has been changed slightly. Ever wonder what goes on behind the minds of those that have been so damaged by life that they can no longer speak, they live only from within themselves.
