Ivory Coast

Her expanse of teeth over the piano keys spirals into Mozartian glides, her smile,  without effort, can neuter gangsters' lust grimaces-- can reduce stone-faced, jaded bi-continental billionaires to nervous giggling, lured into her opacity irresisting of her obscure finesse. She haunts the evenings from the piano bars of humid Abidjan to the conditioned air in the bordellos and clubs from Zanzibar  to Dar-es-Salaam. Her seamless phrases spill into the dense nights, gliding over octaves, never tiring-- coasting, like an ebony falcon, hanging from afar in the upper air.
