Brighton Beach I saw a girl on Brighton beach, Smiling at the sea; Hair wind swept against her cheek Her waves enveloped me. A mist of gulls upon the sky, On pebbled shores she paced; Sunset faded with a sigh Eclipsed by her soft grace. Clouds revealed in all their flaws, Blushed a bluish haze; And time itself, in rapture, paused To shyly catch her gaze. The wind bereft of all its song, Yearns now endlessly; But I, content, need no more long To glimpse eternity. |
