A Sunset

A sunset posted on the sky. Critiquing it, I cannot lie, it lacked the punch of mid-day’s light and yet it had more spark than night. Its colors were pleasant.  Yet when  oranges turned to lime, still failing in their rhyme, I wept.  And said a prayer to God, perhaps, Sir, you might consider one more draft.  But keep me round just long enough to laugh and, with all awe, my fading might, I’ll help you get it right.
