Encore Performance

He manipulated charm  to prepare a romantic dinner of deceit  tainted vowels served on  best dishes, and table cloth,  our wedding gifts simulated romance glared from a candle  as a spot light revealing a scene from a play shadows cast on the wall, co stared the evening,  flickering rhythm of sensuality       "props, to set the mood" The Star a chameleon blending himself into the seduction of the evening Costumed in silk pajamas, and imposture cologne   to disguise touch, and scent of  infidelities He played the part of a perfect husband Pulling out a Chair, a kiss to the forehead,  then dishing out his usual dish  hope devoured every crumb, longing to be filled with  respect, desire, passion ....soul still hungers        "same skit,      ....different day" Somewhere in the depth of a cold, weary spirit emotional frictions, sparks will power burning greater as enlightenment fuels, (I am, because I allow)   toxins he serves toxins I swallow ...ignited awareness smell's the foul meat, taste's the bitter wine, watch heat rising, apparitions of  love, trust, and, honor, long gone    "Denial no longer numbs my senses!"   Encore performance,  I shatter to the floor! Broken vowels cease to be feasted on Charades, constipate from shock and dismay  standing knee deep in the waste of his skits  flushed behind velvet as the curtain string is pulled.    "my soul will not hunger again..."
