Sittin' up Straight

I started my youth at the finish line. Too much hype about bein' a kid, anyhow. It's a much better place, this life of schedules  and morals and long grocery store lines. A Friday nite movie  on the tv set and eatin' popcorn right out of the bag - and, watchin' you outside my living room window as you jump over cracks and throw your jacks  on the concrete. I turn off the lights so you won't see my shadow, as I stir the seeds left in the bag   and the salt stings on my hands.
