Old Man and His Wife

The old man and his wife  And their small farm Agedly beautiful  Distinctly alone For years enjoying their spirited lives Clockwork was never so true One could set the sun by them While observing their busy days At night with a dim light Sneaking through a curtain Visible comfort and peace A life lived very well Never seeing a visitor No more than one car So happy together Love will go that far One evening no dim light The entire avenue Despite the other homes It just was not right Later that year  In the summer Often musing Of how they are A sign defiling the entire yard Forgetting the bent back From working so hard  A life well lived, tribute to God Demolishing the house, I care not to see So many could afford it if not for greed Another good work gone forever Arrogance and vanity hand in hand
