All To A Melody By Eric Satie

I held no ransom on your heart, demand or no such thing. I was content to stand apart and simply watch you swing. I did not know of love back then but I heard passion sing, as you'd return, time and again; I'd simply watch you swing. I had no words to make me bold and precious else to bring, and being only five years old I'd simply watch you swing.  And to this day I watch them sway and flit and fly and fling, and I'm content to hide away and simply watch them swing.
