Admirable Woman Ninety three years young, she maintains a quiet dignity. Fiercely independent, does her laundry, still cooks delectable dishes I fondly remember from childhood days. Flies from St. Louis to California, Virginia, alone, visiting family she loves dearly. Finally allows the transporter to assist her in getting to her connecting gate, but doesn't like it. Tips generously. I take her shopping. Arriving at the mall she steps slowly from the car. Approaching the curb to the sidewalk, she reaches out for my hand. No words are exchanged. Her grip says it all. |
