As One

September 11th. I got on board a Boeing 757, which was headed for California from Washington D.C. Expecting the usual, I sat silenced in my seat. Unable to turn from the window, I look at the beautiful clouds. “Get up!” a cold voice shouts to the crowd. As I turn around in my seat,  a dark haired guy grabs me by the arm,  as others look on in horror. “I’ve got a bomb!” he shouts again. A hurried panic shoots throughout my body, as I jump up, and run to the back of the huge airliner. The man ushers us to the back, where we are held. “When is this going to end?” the questions begin to fly. “Are we going to be safe?” My thoughts are diminished, with the sound of the man’s voice. Fear shoots through my body with every foreign word the men say. Not knowing what they were saying,  or what they were going to do, I fumble through my purse for my cell phone. I begin to dial the number of my boyfriend. The phone rings, and rings, until finally the answering machine comes on. “Jordan, I just wanted to say how much I truly care for you. My plane has been hijacked,  and we're going down. I really love you, and hopefully, one day, we’ll be together again, united as one.”

Additional Notes:
This is the sequal to United. If you haven't noticed, the title of this one and the other piece combine. The titles come out to be "United As One". I have tried to capture the horrific day in poetic form. I thank you for reading and I really hope you enjoy.
