My Abyss

The path of emptiness advances foreboding, aware of the somber abyss of my life. Descending now deeply within myself, towards the shame that solicits my soul. Inadequacy overwhelms my spirit at once, incapable to express the way I feel. Despair at this time swallows my joy, taking it to hidden places I’ve known. Shame unites the innermost thoughts, reminding me of acts they fully committed. A victim of journeys I did not choose, judging myself for their appalling deeds. Unable to bear the painful thoughts, their brutal attempts to end my life. Alone once more, no one hears my cries, for the abyss is where I always hid. In this place I escaped the staid pain, the memories that belonged to that time. The fierce violent blows and brutal attacks, withering my spirit to a trifling core. Whereas I have run, I cannot hide, new strength I encounter within my soul. The abstruse abyss must now conclude, I rise with fresh energy unearthed today. Shame be gone with respect drawing near, seeing new power reflect from my reason. I will chance the uncertain and reveal myself, convinced love and honor shall uniquely withstand.

Additional Notes:
Shame has no value in deeds done by others except to take away the dignity of life. With new knowledge and love revealed from friends right here, my heart will head in a new direction. It takes time, but it will be worth it. Thanks to all!
