Pen in Hand a worthwhile stand

Pen In Hand, a worthwhile stand. How can I use my Pen to abate Ignorance, Bigotry, a world full of hate? Is it just possible, Pen-in-hand, I can be first to be counted, to stand for all that is good in 'Brotherly Love' for the 'Olive Branch carried by a Dove' Can but a Pen in my humble hands thwart all that's ugly in Bigoted Bands? Well, many a heart has been turned to good by words which were written in Ink or blood. Yet in these times of Violence and Crime, what is the worth of a Pen or a Rhyme? Naught! you might be tempted to say but never, no never will that my pen stay. If only one soul by me could be touched that would be reason for me to be pushed  to take up my pen, let emotions soar, that I might make an end to war, that I might draw out the best in man by the stroke of my pen, if I possibly can.

I once foolishly submitted this poem to the National Society of Poetry only to find that it was a scam. So I offer it here hopeful of finding it more meaningful
