The Eye of the Storm

Transient shimmers of light glinting free Baby rocks gently on Mama's knee Pungent aroma of coffee perking Sweet strains of music softly lurking Morning breaks with quiet ease Baby's locks stirred by a whispering breeze The TV's turned off, no news of Anthrax Big brother plays with Grandpa's old Jacks Peace reigns supreme in this humble abode Baby still sleeping, to Mama no load No news of the conflict halfway 'round the world Tabby in the corner, purring and napping lying curled Wake up the the thunder the fear and the smoke As baby sleeps on dressed in her embroidered cloak Stories of craziness spinning all around Here though in the Eye of the Storm, peace is found
