Rain Falling Up

The rain fell, Constantly,.... Softly, Filling the earth with its wetness. Filling up streams, filling up rivers, filling up the ocean bed; filling up holes once dry with trees thought dead. The rain fell, Constantly,....Softly, Soaking the earth with its wetness. Soaking up fields, soaking up lands, soaking up the ocean bed; soaking up paths once dry with blades thought dead. The rain fell, Constantly,....Softly, Covering the earth with its wetness. covering the dirt, covering the dust, covering the ocean bed; covering the constant smell with scents thought dead. The rain fell, Constantly,....Softly, Filling us all with hope, Soaking us all with strength, Covering us all with proof, of new life, new earth, new days ahead. Then slowly, softly, the rain was gone, the clouds parted, the sun peeked through the treetops, and in the distnce I heard the faint, sweet sounds of Morning.
