Journey to Eternity

Fare thee well, brave world I bid thee one last adieu. For me the storm tossed life is done And I seek salvation’s just repose. Bring on the faggots and stoke the fire high, I wish to burn hot and cheat the worms of their meal. Life has offered all; What strange adventures can death hold? In death, can life be found? Can conscience be burned as well as flesh? Is sin dismissed when bodies char Or are gnawed away by creatures in the earth? If such is true, then let all live right lustful lives For there is no joy in blackened bones. But – if sin be transmitted through pyre or grave, Take heed And let all live more thoughtful lives For deep in everlasting death may be everlasting life. Fare thee well, brave world. I bid thee this last adieu.
