Dreams of Flora Dreams of Flora How fantastic is this Forget-Me-Not forest of Foxtail and Fir; eonic guardians of magic Kinnikinnick carpets where Columbines collide and bow to the Wallflower’s beauty, globally golden; with misused name. Fens and glens full aglow from last nights Shooting Stars, scattered across the ground; pointing back toward their heavenly home. Indian Paintbrushes paint a ring of Bluebells, as Fairy Trumpets blow in a warning wind. Below the Lodgepole Pine all the berries thrive. Buffalo, Goose, Thimble, Silver, Snow and Rasp respective of their Elderberry. Lower yet the brush begins; Wizened Sage watches over Rabbit, Elk and Antelope Brush, as well as Buck and Bottle. The Snakeweed crawls and the Horsetail cleans as Cherries choke the Golden Rods. The centuries sentry, an Englemann Spruce stands so tall, above it all. White Miners Candles and Burning Bush torch spring’s path; parts of which grow crazy with Loco-Weed and wild with Strawberries as Tall Chiming Bells ring summer and stream. A Pin Cushion’s purple beauty causes even the Aspen to quake; as the Fireweed burns a Mockorange sunset of Golden Smoke wafting through Wayfaring Tree and Yellow Evening Star. |
