Sonnet #11 " Roxanne"

As mem'ry of her features fade to black,      Of greater merit are the words I've scribed. Without a means to update or to track;      They comfort as the one they first described. Though worthy then of accolade and praise,      Due to uncommon beauty, charm and grace; Shan't she like all the rest advance in age      And show that growth in stature, and in face? Won't all those held praiseworthy in their prime,      Where naught of subsequence has yet been penned, Unduly profit from the cease of time;      Remembered not for now - but just for then? Oh Lord, if sentenced ne'er again to see; Please mend my cognizant...deficiencies.
