Toss A Penny In The Well.

Cut my mattress tag off, Stepped on a crack, Left my shoes on the table, Sat with the door to my back. Broke the mirror, Saw the bride before the wedding, Blew out half the birthday candles, Where is this all heading? Held my scissors while I was running, Put the horseshoe open end down, Let black cats cross my path, Walked backwards into town. Wore my hat indoors, Palm itches, with no money to spend, Open the umbrella in the kitchen, Does this story have an end? Salt over my shoulder, Knock on wood, Punch buggies, Shooting stars, Four leaf clovers are good. Superstitions one and all,  The list is long and hard, Like reaching bottom in a falling dream, Or death, the tarot card. So I leave you here,  And go my way,  Mom’s back still straight and strong, And hope that by you reading this, Your spells will soon be gone.
