I grasp you firmly, with both hands, Yet hold you as I would a bird. Forward,  Back,  First slowly, Then faster, Until I must slow again, Exhausted. Rested, I move ahead, Glide without resistance, Deeper and deeper, Until I can go no farther, And must turn back, As darkness falls, And my journey complete. Gently, I lift you from your spot, And place you, Secure, For the next visit, Upon the banks of Passion Pond, Where you sleep till I return.
