Peace on Earth

Amidst the tinsel and the glow The holly and the mistletoe, We pause to ponder Jesus birth And our plea for peace on earth. Peace on earth for human kind Seems to be on every mind. Is peace just an illusion? War a violent intrusion? At Christmas the Son of God was sent  To save us all, if we'd repent. The Ten Commandments God did give To be the rules by which to live. Still bombs are dropping, Hearts are stopping, War still rages Through the ages. Mans inhumanity to man Runs rampant throughout every land. Evil is alive and well, The Devil still recruits for Hell. We've glimpsed the evil face of terror, Lived through unimaginable horror. Satan seems to rule the day, Peace seems so very far away. We look up and see His star And wonder how we've come this far, Yet no closer to peace on earth Then we were at Jesus birth. There is no peace, but who is to blame? Wars are waged in His name. Peace can only come to be When God's laws are followed willingly. Strive on good souls and don't forget, We may win this battle yet! The Lord is on the side of peace, Let just struggles never cease! "Peace on Earth" again we hear,  Echo onward through the years. "Peace on Earth"------------
