Gifts of A Red Sunset

Wisdom shadows a face torn in glassy shallow waters of a daring river. I feel the scars under your skin,    as I touch the face that has stopped crying.    Limbs hurt by the weight of tumbling rocks, forgive you. The bass guitar player's fingers spread through my hair,  spilling sensations down my neck.      Delight careens through me,       as ripples of water cascade up the Ohio,       forming puddles of feet in fossil beds, time thought forgotten. Delicate endearments whispered in the black night,  mesmerized a broken soul.    Kind words stroked my cheek,        and I still taste your melted kisses.       Leaving your music, your musky scent,is asking too much. I Love you now from far away with desires, reeling from memories born.    I'm not a fool who throws truth out into the rain       as the wind laughs, nor will I walk away from        a red sunset that caressed us with its gift of love.
