Watching from Nowhere in Particular Looking through a window of colored glass able to see yet not be seen rain falls down making dark creases against the sidewalk old woman walks along and falls smearing street grime against her yellow church dress her legs slide across the ground as she struggles to get up a child cries without reason stumbling beside its mother who slaps him once and the child is quiet once more lovers walk along hand in hand as if nothing matters but them but they didn't see the the woman or the child, and they didn't see me |
