SHARING MY THOUGHTS

Words are shooting through my brain Like flames from rampant fire The brightness makes me swoon a bit It stings like sharp barbed wire I pick and choose, I reach afar For just the right command A phrase to help me use my pen As canvas on a stand... Images begin to form With each and every stroke My urgency intensifies My fervor has been stoked My hand begins to fly across  The page, it can't be tamed It doesn't matter what the theme Anything that can be named... Love or hatred, spring or fall Perhaps a woman scorned God and Country, native lands Or sufferings to be mourned Just give me time, encourage me A picture I'll design Of memories within my soul And give you what once was mine
