Ties That Bind

Star crossed lovers You and I Twenty four years Wishing, wondering Where and why   Worlds apart Oceans in-between It mattered not Our love still grew   Complicated  By time itself My heart's free But yours is not   Pages of time Now have turned You're alone But I am not   The moment  Has come You must choose A lifetime together Or forever free   A hasty decision Did you make You are there But I am not   My love For you Now tucked away Safely guarded Within my heart   Reflections Upon our time A smile A sigh And now A final  Goodbye

Additional Notes:
Distance may make "the heart grow fonder", but time weakens the "Ties That Bind" them.
