MY DESIRE

Should I have only one wish granted                   To fill my life with joy                  It is to love and be loved              At the same time, in the same place                        By that same person.                    That's masculine, yet kind.               For some it is hard to offer love                  And have the gift returned.                But at least if one is willing                       To take the chance,                There might not be the emptiness                    That results from playing                   Life's game of love so safe.           Besides, it is not the fear of the dark that          Makes waking up in the night alone, so bad,           It's the fear that it will always be that way                    Waking up mid - night, alone                   Not having him to cuddle with!
