Restless Slumber

As I lay in restless slumber Something likened to a feather Brushed softly cross my mind. A wisp of melancholy, A feeling, difficult to define. And at the moment of awakening, I sensed your presence near. I cried out in sweet surrender As lips kissed a flood of tears. My trembling hand reached softly 'Cross the space of darkness To the pillow where you lay. My sobs turned sadly wretched For I knew you had gone away. I sighed in silent resignation, At the thought of losing you. And in my restless slumber.... My aching heart cryed out to you, As sweet salty tears fell,  Pooling upon my warm tender breasts, Beneath which, my weeping heart lay... Upon which, Once again Your head may gently rest someday.
