New Attitudes I'm in a sea of passion Waiting for its receding tide, Your lighthouse is my shelter From which I cannot not hide. Your beacon light is my virtue The rising swell loves rage, Your bay is my safe harbour Your friendship is my cage. Yet shores of love lay empty As storms ravaged in my mind, Letting pieces of my empty life Drift oh so far behind. The tender nets of loving Lay empty, meshed in fear, They tangled in uncertainty Letting reasons disappear. In your following sea of words Over forested endless miles, You gave me a new attitude Gift wrapped in all your smiles. My fortress now your castle Will shelter us over time, You give me gifts of kindness And I give you verses of ryhme. Living in a winter's cold breath You paint a glowing hue, Day dreams tantalize my mind Knowing all will always come true. I hear your words with laughter Like robins you make me sing, And my love no longer hibernates Into the the coming spring, Your passionate thoughts and emotions Are waiting to be set free, But the distance to your heart leaves me in apathy. I watch the distant frozen shoreline And with each passing day, Your passionate thoughts flow through me And the ice melts on the bay. |
