♀ INSIDE OUT

Do you remember the story once told, little girl’s anger should remain in control? Fury and rage repressed deep inside, keeping it hidden with fervor denied. How this began no one may know, sugar and spice in a make believe show. Innocent girls clothed in satin and lace, playing with dolls unblemished with grace. Some won’t experience this vicious pain, others, by chance, will be raped and slain. Transgressions so violent, many will die, some will endure and persist to ask why. The terror for families of those who are taken, sharp feelings of hatred as they are forsaken. How could anyone slaughter a child, these beautiful ones, so meek and mild? Wanting to mangle yet having to halt, with so many rights, though he’s at fault. Destructive people that live in our lands, do we accept this or make new demands? It’s time to speak up and allow anger out, voices heard clearly without any doubt. Rights to a man who butchered and maimed? He should be cast out and integrally shamed. We anticipate justice will take its course, how long will we linger to see all remorse? Our God will fastidiously deal with this man, if only I could be a portion of His ultimate plan.                     Dedicated to                   Danielle van Dam                     and her family                       Slain 2002

Additional Notes:
This poem will never do justice to what has once again happened. The symbol meaning "female" was put along side the title in Danielle's honor. Danielle was only seven years old, abducted from her own bed in the middle of the night, and was missing for over three weeks. Her neighbor, a fifty year old man and her neighbor, has been “charged” with kidnapping and murder. Her body was found and positively identified yesterday, February 28, 2002, but due to the length of time since her death, they may not be able to prove what truly happened. In that, I ask all of you to pray for justice to be done.
