Don't Roll the Video Tape

I came seeking an intimate friend, and you volunteered. Your response was positive and real, but the next day you recanted wanting no part of the deal. Claiming unattracted and no feeling, and those reactions might make sense. I hold no inherent interest, so that's a logical defense. But didn't you play your history movie. Reliving back when you did respond. Seeing promises you trusted turn to times you'd just been conned. Life can burn, only so many times, till just smoky ashes will remain, and when they blow away, a trusting heart you can't regain. I'm sorry. I would like to say I doubt this is your case, but only you know you when chances meet you face to face.
