CHOICES

Life is full of choices The ones made in the sunlight of our youth Determine the pattern of our lives For some the choice is very easy The heart and mind act as one And the road to be taken is clear But others stumble down the path Content with what they think they have Blind to the reality of what could be Until the day their heart and mind merge And what was once enough No longer satisfies the empty space inside their soul And they must choose To honor the commitments of their youth And lose the reality of today Or to take a chance at a dream And in doing so, change the pattern of their existence And begin to live again Choices aren't always easy And this one the hardest of all But the reward for the effort is life We can choose to live Or we can exist Because life is full of choices
