This Doll

Mommy,  when I push    this thing:        she’s ’pos’ta cry!    pull this string:       she should sing!    raise her hand:       she said “Bye-bye!” but she does not    cry or sing    say a thing    anymore Mommy, this doll    you gave to me    on my birthday    (I was three    just last May) is sad now:    her hairs fall out    her eyes can’t see Do you think she    cries at night    sings for light    says "Bye-bye"     as I sleep?   Do you? We can fix her    can’t we? Mommy?
