beyond my closet

wide-eyed I peek from behind my isolation testing if it's safe to venture out of the recesses of aloneness suck me back while life's bright airiness calls me to struggle against the comfort of the familiar grasps my soul yet with goose-pimpled limbs I dog-paddle to an unpeopled raft allows time to reconnect with purpose and plan to prepare to sail into the hot sunrise of possibilities cups and extends with gigantic gentle hands to wisely offer gifts of an embrace and a release propel me through stars reflecting a future of over and into and among
