AND IT WAS SAID (PART 2) Strains of "Give Peace A Chance" float over the hillside. Just barely. The people came back in two's and threes and more. They came to listen once again, to the man on the hill. They sat and waited, and waited, and waited. Then, almost like an apparition he appeared once more. Hush. No signs of fresh growth on the ground, just dust and trampled down dead grass. The refrain is a little louder now. A woman suckles a baby to her breast, the only sign of true new life there is. One man in the crowd approaches the Master, and hands him what appears to be an old piece of wood. On this wood is a metallic shiny plate. "Master, what does this say? What does it mean?" The master reads and says, "Bomb Shelter" "Enter and Close the door behind you." "But what does all this mean Master?" And the Master said, "You have not listened. I have sent you away from here, and you returned many moons later." "You have not learned of love. You continue to drop bombs on the innocent" "You are not humans." He lifted his arms palms up towards the sky, and from his finger tips there emanated the most beautiful of rainbows. "I bring you peace, but not here" the Master said. And from behind him there rose a silver space ship. On its side was written, "The Adam And Eve Explorer." The mushroom cloud then covered the earth. |
