Memories and Prayers

I came here to your grave to pray.   No flowers could I bring today.   Upon your stone, a handprint though,   I left behind, so you would know,   I brought my memories to share.   I almost saw you standing there,   Your face alight with welcome smile.   I stood and daydreamed for awhile   And when I turned away at last,   My thoughts still dwelling in the past,   A breeze brought rose scent and the sound   Of wild birds singing, all around!
