If You Say Storm

A storm was coming, so they said. Dark clouds were forming overhead. I saw lightning, then heard thunder, And that delay made me wonder If I had time to safely flee Before it rained it’s wrath on me. I had no more than thought the thought When by its vanguard I was caught. It wet my cloth, skin and spirit, But that was not cause to fear it. A little rain is bound to fall, But little rain's no storm at all. As for this ones staying power, I've been caught in longer shower. Its thunder scared the child in me, But thunder can't a storm decree. Storm is storm and shower, shower. Life gets shorter by the hour. I must prepare for what is true. If you say "storm", then storm damn you!
