Lesson Learned

She put potion in the lotion Then she rubbed the lotion in What had once been smooth and silky Was now leather-toughened skin That’s what happens when You rub it in, REALLY rub it in Her nose was long and crooked She got a mirror and took a peek Saw a hair the size of Dallas Growing from the middle of her cheek What a way to start the week She’s up a creek, WAY up a creek Both of her legs became so twisted The left foot turned to the right As the right foot tried to go forward Her knees locked when she tried to fight She struggled with all her might But was a sight, an AWFUL sight This week-long routine happens monthly From the time she gets up, 'til she goes back to bed I’ve learned not to speak, or go near her It’s fear of the KNOWN that I dread With fiery eyes, she once said, ‘You’ll wish you were dead, REALLY dead.’
