Until Then

It was a lazy, hazy summer morning (I was taking my usual stroll) When I stopped upon an old stone bridge (Old age was taking it’s toll) Beneath ran sparkling, crystal clear water (Could see rocks, fish, shadows of bird’s wings) Gently flowing toward a majestic ocean (Taking with it all a babbling brook brings) Could it be, or is it just my imagination? (I sense something is in the air) The smell of roses, tulips, irises, daisies (Flowers are in abundance, everywhere) Azure sky, where pink-tinged clouds are circling  (And way up high, a snow-white dove) There’s only one thing, now, I’m missing (Wish you were still here, my only true love) Oh, but you are...I seem to have forgotten (I see you in the sky, the flowers, the streams) I’ll meet you on this stone bridge, again tomorrow (Until then, my darling, I love you...sweet dreams)
