A Mother's Love is Forever

I may scream I may swear & sometimes  it may seem That I don’t care But I do It’s true You are you Special in every way Becoming more of a lady Each and every day & it makes me sad, you see To know you’ll soon be Grown No longer needing me I’ll be all alone When you’re out on your own My universe you’re the center of The meaning in my life Everything in the world I love The source of my joy & strife You’re my baby, my little girl My helper, my friend A precious & beautiful pearl Who will always be My daughter to the end So forgive me If I lose control Or get a little crazy Sometimes frustrations & daily aggravations Take their toll But underneath it all My love is deep & strong Be proud, stand tall Know you have a place Where you belong The shelter of my embrace Tells you that it’s true Happiness is all I ever want for you Love me or hate me But always believe I am your defender, your friend, Even after the nest you leave Even when we don’t agree Even as the ageless wind blows the remaining leaf  off the last lonely tree Your mother I am  & forever will be
