She Left Me Burning she left me burning at an altar of contempt for a dream decaying on a night rent from having passed through the bowels of Christ. my spirit spewed out, shredded by the talons of a whore who left my heart bloodless, no more than rancid meat to be devoured like dung by the vile worms of hatred. a plume of rancor reaches to embrace a foul and faithless world, the dark manifestation of a dire soul drowning in a dank and poison pool of fetid waste excreted by a mind left to recant love and understanding. she left me burning. |
