Jade She arrived one day under proud eyes A bundle of joy was a girl by surprise Her mother held as her father looked on A new joy to the world had begun She cried a tear And then she smiled Her heart and soul were on parade Little was known What she'll bring to the world This little lady they named 'Jade' Ten years on she had a brother to hold She was growing into her mother's mould One day her dad came home in tears Her mother was ill, it was the biggest of fears Then she cried a tear But then she smiled Her heart and soul payed a tribute parade She said: "Daddy I'm here for you The little lady you've named 'Jade' And her father picked her up Held her tight Realised that this child Had the biggest of might Ten years more since her mother had gone She now was a lady who brightly shone When she heard a child crying loud She held him tight until his parents found So she cried a tear And she smiled Her heart and soul began to parade She told the child He was never alone There goes the lady they call 'Jade' A decade on, a sorrowed test She has what put her mother to rest But advised her friends crying and down That she'll always be around in the town She cried a tear While she smiled Her heart and soul were on parade She said "Love each other And the world" Wise words from the lady 'Jade' Everyone she touched Couldn't frown Her soul glittered Like her gown A loving human Her love rippled Though she was disabled Even crippled No less a being Without vision No less of heart No division People cry a tear And then they smile Their hearts and souls always on parade She saw more They'd ever imagine The blind, crippled girl they called 'Jade' |
