Until Then-Final Chapter

It was a lazy, hazy, steamy summer morning As I took my usual snail-paced stroll I stopped upon an old stone bridge That thing called age was taking its toll Beneath ran sparkling, crystal clear water I could see rocks, fish, and shadows of birds’ wings Gently flowing toward a majestic ocean Taking with it all a babbling brook brings Could it be, or is it just my imagination? I shiver, feeling something mystical in the air The smell of roses, tulips, lilies and daisies Assail my senses...Flowers are everywhere In an azure sky, pink-tinged clouds are circling It looks picture perfect...the earth, the heavens above Why did you die, and leave my heart to go on beating? I wish you were still here, my only true love Oh, but you are...for just a brief moment, I’d forgotten I can see you in the sky, the flowers, and the streams I’ll meet you here, on this timeworn bridge, again, tomorrow Until then, I’ll hold you close, in the shadows of my dreams
