Thoughts to live by ... for the newlyweds

Love has made you one Trust forever will unite you From adversity you’ll need not run Affection your love will keep new Unity the hard times will ease Hope your hearts will brighten Always each other aim to please Your worries God will lighten Hold on to respect Let anger not cause separation Heed not neglect Let discord lead not to alienation Give way to tenderness Allow passion your souls to stir Embrace every happiness Remember always love is the cure Kiss away the tears Share the joys Confide the fears Ignore the ‘noise’ Overlook the flaws Praise what’s good Take a moment to pause & express what you should In your hearts let forgiveness reside With enthusiasm each new day embrace Cherish the one by your side Love each other always With patience and grace From this moment forward ‘Till the end of your days …

Additional Notes:
This was a special poem that I created and gave to my sister on her wedding day. It was made especially for her and her husband and was one of the more difficult pieces I've done, due to the fact that the content had to fit not only the occasion, but the people for whom it was intended. My sister and her husband are zealous born again Christians and I am not a particularly RELIGIOUS person, which has been a source of contention between my sister and I for a very long time. Nevertheless, this was her special day and I wanted to give her something from my heart that she could have forever. It has never been published.
